Laurie Julian

Laurie is a graduate of both the University of Connecticut School of Law and Medicine where she earned her Juris Doctor and Master’s in Public Health. She is licensed to practice in Connecticut and worked in the insurance industry for six years as an attorney for Chubb Insurance Companies managing complex employment and health care litigation.

While working at Chubb she earned her Master’s in Public Health, concentrating in health policy. Since graduation, she has worked in the non-profit sector, specifically at the Connecticut Primary Care Association as their Government Affairs Manager and Public Policy Director for the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter.

Laurie was successful in the passage of state legislation and gained a track record of advancing several initiatives on state and federal levels and protecting program funding. At the Alzheimer’s Association, she was instrumental in establishing the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Task Force by pressing upon the need for a strategic plan to address the growing number of individuals affected by the disease. As a result, legislation was introduced and passed creating the task force, and as an appointee to the task force, she convened the task force, crafted recommendations and assisted in authoring the final report.

With considerable experience in health policy, government relations and advocacy, Laurie was appointed and served on several boards and commissions; Long-Term Care Advisory Council, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Task Force, Oral Health for Older Adults Task Force, End-of-Life Coalition, and the Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission. Currently, Laurie serves on the board of the Knox Foundation, Inc., Hartford’s premiere horticultural organization.

Laurie joined Evans & Associates in 2015, where she specializes in health, human services, long-term care and environmental issues.
